This exhibition offers a focused yet thoughtful glimpse into the ways identity—particularly Black identity—has been shaped, reinforced, and challenged through the lens of reality television. While not exhaustive, it brings together a range of artistic responses informed by critical theory, journalism, entertainment writing, and cultural studies.
Throughout the show, the works function as a visual manifestation of ideas and critiques drawn from both lived experience and media analysis. Reality TV, as a space that thrives on public engagement, is uniquely shaped by audience participation—by votes, reactions, and commentary that influence who stays, who leaves, and how people are portrayed.
In that same spirit, this exhibition is not just an endpoint, but a space to continue that conversation. Visitors are encouraged to join the forum, share reflections, and engage with others.
